Despite curating a whole bunch of shows about Bhangra, I’m really just a clueless white guy and by no means an expert. But to me, Superjones is putting out the most refreshing Desi-type beats I’ve heard since DJ Rekha in NY. “Straight Ruffneck” - with the Ragga Twins – is fronted by a social media mashup of hard-men tagged: #StraightRuffneckOfTheDay. This one stood out for me – in itself it’s a remix of “Dressing for Work” is by US/Afghan artist Aman Mojadidi, Actually; for me it gives Mojadidi’s work more swagger than it has.
