Artist and designer Cosmo Sarson has painted a mural of a wonderfully athletic breakdancing Jesus, across the street from Banksy’s famous Mild Mild West. Cosmo’s new work, which uses over two pounds of gold glitter, looks great, and was inspired by a charming old newspaper clipping of Pope John Paul with a breakdancer.
The mural was commissioned by trendy eaterie and music venue, Canteen. According to Cosmo, this is “one of the most prestigious walls in Bristol”. That says alot about where we are in the UK, with our mainstream galleries stocked with tat that no-one cares about, and the streets full of great art that everyone can love.
